Today we celebrate International Women's Day. We thought it would be fun to take a quick photo of (most of) the women in our Burlington office. One disadvantage of having world-wide offices is the difficulty in gathering everyone together for a fun photo shoot like this. Some of these women have been working for Black Duck since we were founded, while others have only been here for a week or even a day.
Regardless of how long they've been here, we know they're all DUCKs — which around here means Dedicated, Unique, (with) Customer Focus and lots of Knowledge. When people like the DUCKs are helping you find new talent, you get to meet and hire some wonderful people. Special thanks to all who participated in the photo!
Last week, I was excited to share that Black Duck hit an important milestone in February - we hit 300 employees world-wide! We couldn't have achieved this without our HR team (including recruiting) led by Michelle Goodwin, our VP of Human Resources, and our VP of Culture, Tim Kenny, but even more, we couldn't have achieved it without our employee referrals. These referrals have helped us grow an amazing team, which I'm very proud to be a part of.
Culture & Drive
Although we've had wonderful growth, our job isn't done — our goal is to reach 400 employees by the end of 2017. Luckily, we have many compelling reasons to join us. At Black Duck you get the culture and drive of a start-up with market impact that comes from being part of a market leader with over a decade of growth and innovation behind it.
When I walk around our office, I see focused and high-energy people working together. We have fun, of course, but we're also working hard on helping organizations get the most they can from open source, with solutions that enable them to preempt open source cyber attacks, ensure license compliance, and maximize developer productivity. That's why we're the leader in the Forrester Wave for Software Composition Analysis and have been announcing a steady stream of integrations and partnerships with companies like Microsoft, IBM, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and more. And we're certainly not stopping there. To get to the next level, we need even more talented employees to join our team.
Join Black Duck
We have open positions in our Burlington, Massachusetts headquarters; San Jose, California; Vancouver, Canada; Belfast, Northern Ireland; Reading, United Kingdom and Japan. And while we are a high tech company, our openings include range from sales and marketing to engineering and professional services. I'm excited about our team, and looking forward to growing it, and Black Duck's success, in 2017 and beyond. Check out our openings. I'm looking forward to filling up those stairs with new women next year in our photo on International Women's Day.
