The LiMo Foundation is taking a leadership role both in the mobile market as well as in its open development process.  We at Black Duck are proud to be supporting Andrew Savory and the LiMo team on their code management and supply chain processes with our technology.

From where Black Duck sits in the market, we see open development models being adopted by development organizations in many different industries around the world, and it’s clear the mobile industry is leading the charge.  Development organizations are taking advantage of the benefits of open source as part of their multi-source process. This makes the management of open source code mixed with commercial code and internally developed code an essential business process.

Andrew rightfully talks about “standing on the shoulders of giants” when leveraging open source. At Black Duck we’re all about helping development groups get up on those shoulders (if I can stretch the metaphor) as quickly and efficiently as possible.
